Throughout its history The East of England Agricultural Society has kept abreast of the changes in Farming and Land Management. This has included bringing together experts to inform us about new ideas.

With this in mind, the Society would like to invite you to a free early evening seminar, on the 31st March, on Anaerobic Digestion from a Farmer’s Perspective. This free event will be followed by discussion and refreshments.

Anaerobic Digestion has been much talked about recently in the farming and environmental press as an important source of energy in the UK. It is thought that burning biomass and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) could create up to 6% of the country’s energy as well as providing a source of income for the agriculture and food processing industries.

With 49% of the country’s grade A agricultural land and many food processing companies based here, our region could be very well suited to AD. 

Three experts have been invited to provide a short and practical explanation of how this much-discussed and mysterious technology works, the operating and farming models that support it and options for setting up in business. 

There is also an hour for informal discussion over a glass of beer and some sandwiches. Delegates will be joined by a number of people from local food companies and local businesses who work in this arena.
