Q: I would like to sell boat trailers to Germany, but I am not sure which certification I will need. Is the national certification enough or do I need additional documentation when selling to Germany?

A: We asked our network colleagues in Germany and got directed to the German equivalent of the Vehicle Registration Agency. After sending an email with our request, we got a call back from the authority.

Their advice was really helpful, detailing that you will need an EC Whole Type Approval, or, if you only intend to sell on a very small scale the EC Small series type approval. Applications can be made in the UK as well as in Germany and the certification will allow selling your products in all European Member States.


Q: Our Company provides engineering services in Sweden and Portugal. I heard that it is possible to complete the necessary formalities online. Where can I do that?

A: The recent changes in the Service Directive have also meant that points of single contact have been set up in each European Member State to allow service providers to deal with and complete their administrative formalities electronically.

We were able to provide the client with the link to the general page of all European points of single contact. This website helped him save time and money in completing his administrative obligations.
